UMD     FPE





Professor James Quintiere will receive the Arthur B. Guise Medal during the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Awards banquet on October 16, 2006. The Arthur B. Guise medal is given in recognition of eminent achievement in advancing the science of fire protection engineering. Quintiere was awarded this honor in recognition of his decades of research that have advanced the understanding of fire spread and room fire dynamics, his contributions to the SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering, and recent publication of a text book that will be used to teach future generations of fire protection engineers.
