Dr. Jim Milke will be receiving the 2005-2006 Service Award for an outstanding faculty member in the Clark School of Engineering for the academic year. The award will be presented at the spring commencement exercises on May 22, 2006. The award is based on service to the college, university and profession. Professor Milke serves as the director of the undergraduate program, serves on several college committees, is the faculty advisor to the SFPE Student Chapter, Salamander, Tau Beta Pi, and the Men’s Ice Hockey Team. Examples of his contributions to the profession include his participation on the Board of Directors of SFPE, chairing the NFPA Smoke Management Committee, chairing the ASCE/SFPE committee on Structural Fire Protection and being a member of the editorial board for two journals. He also serves the community as a member of the Executive Committee of the College Park Volunteer Fire Department.
