UMD     FPE





Tingguang Ma and Yunyong Utiskul both successfully defended their PhD dissertation on Friday November 17. The Department of Fire Protection Engineering is glad to announce that their names will be soon added to the list of our PhD Graduates.

Tingguang's Thesis is entitled "Large Eddy Simulation of Variable Density Flows" (Advisor: Prof. A. Trouve). Yunyong's Thesis is entitled "Theoretical and Experimental Study on Fully-Developed Compartment Fires" (Advisor: Prof. J. G. Quintiere).

Congratulations to both of them for a job well done and best wishes for their future professional endeavors!

PS: Tingguang and Yunyong have been offered, and have accepted FPE engineer positions with United Technology Corporation Fire and Security (UTCFS) and ARUP (Los Angeles), respectively.
